Appealing a Certification Evaluation

Appeals of Certification decisions will only be accepted if submitted within 40 calendar days of the date the assessment email was sent to the applicant.
To qualify for a Saskatchewan teacher's certificate, applicants must meet the following requirements:

 ♦  Completion of grade 12 or equivalent; and
 ♦  Completion of an undergraduate teacher education program (i.e.: Bachelor of Education degree, Post-Graduate Diploma in Education, Certificate in Education) comprised of a minimum of 48 semester hours of teacher education courses that includes an extended practicum; and;
       Note: if your undergraduate teacher education program did not result in the conferral of a degree, then you must also hold a bachelor degree (3 of 4 years) in addition to the teacher education program.
 ♦  Hold a teaching certificate from the jurisdiction where teacher education was completed (if outside of Saskatchewan).
  ♦  Meet the academic requirements as outlined in Schedule F  of the SPTRB Regulatory Bylaws.

If you completed your teacher education program outside of Saskatchewan in a language other than English or French, you will be required to meet the SPTRB certification language proficiency requirements as verified by Pathways to Teach Canada's Language Competency Assessment for the Teaching Profession (LCATP).
