I.  Completing or Completed Last Semester of Saskatchewan Teacher Education Program Application Requirements:

    1.  Online application and fee ($110.25 non-refundable).
     
  2. Gender identification selected from one of the following options: Male, Female, X (Unspecified, i.e. includes but not limited to Trans, Non-Binary, Two-Spirited, etc.), Choose not to disclose (i.e. You may identify with any of the gender options provided but do not want to disclose).
     
  3. Government Issued ID: Birth Certificate; Passport (Valid/Current, with full legal name); or Certificate of Indian Status.
     
  4. Marriage Certificate / Change of Name Certificate / Divorce Certificate (if your name has changed since birth).
     
  5. Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (must be for employment purposes and valid within three months of completion of your teacher education program).  See note below.
     
  6. Convocation Letter (the U of S and U of R will send the letters automatically to the SPTRB upon the completion of your degree requirements.)
     
  7. Official transcripts for any other post-secondary school attended must be sent directly to the SPTRB by the issuing institution. If you attended post-secondary school outside of North America, you are required to have an International Credential Advantage Package (ICAP Report) conducted by World Education Services (WES) and arrange for the result to be forwarded directly to the SPTRB. Arrange to have all your transcripts sent to WESWES provides English translations of all transcripts.


 
 PLEASE NOTE:  
   ♦   If you apply more than 3 months prior to completing your teacher education program, your criminal record check will no longer be valid by the time your convocation letter or transcript is received. For example, if you apply in December and submit a criminal record check that was conducted on December 10 and your teacher education program convocation letter isn't received until April 17, your criminal record check is no longer valid and your application cannot be assessed.
 
   ♦   We only accept CRC/VSS completed by a law enforcement agency (i.e. city police, RCMP). We do not accept results from other agencies such as MyBackCheck, CERTN, etc.  
  ♦   If you completed your Bachelor of Education at the University of Regina, please ensure your Bachelor of Education appears awarded on your transcript before it is sent to us. Select the processing option "Hold(ing) for Credential" to ensure that your transcript will be sent after your degree has been conferred.  
  ♦   Applications will be assessed once ALL required documents are received.

   Specifics:
       a)    Applicants with an approved undergraduate degree and at least 48 semester hours of pre-service teacher education coursework (must include practicum and specific courses required for certification) may apply for assessment for certification prior to completing their B.Ed. program. Review the academic requirements for certification according to Schedule F  of the Regulatory Bylaws of the SPTRB. 
     
  b)  The fee includes the SK B.Ed. Graduate Application fee ($105.00) and the SK Pre-B.Ed. Assessment fee ($100.00) for a total of $215.25 (non-refundable).  
     
  c)  Applicants who meet requirements for certification (before completing their B.Ed. program) will be issued a Permanent Professional A teacher's certificate. Applicants who do not meet requirements for certification will have their application held until proof of completion of a B.Ed. is received.

  7. Current official transcripts for teacher education program that includes a completed practicum with mark granted. See note below.
     
  8.  Official transcripts for any other post-secondary school attended must be sent directly to the SPTRB by the issuing institution. If you attended post-secondary school outside of North America, you are required to have an International Credential Advantage Package (ICAP Report) conducted by World Education Services (WES) and arrange for the result to be forwarded directly to the SPTRB. Arrange to have all your transcripts sent to WES. WES provides English translations of all transcripts.

       PLEASE NOTE:   
   ♦  Official transcripts must include, practicum and 48 semester hours of specified teacher education coursework. Review the academic requirements for certification according to Schedule F of the Regulatory Bylaws of the SPTRB.  
   ♦ If you submit a complete application but are denied for certification due to missing coursework, you may need to submit a new Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search when you submit the completed coursework.  
   
Applicants who are completing their B.Ed. in conjunction with another degree (joint or dual degree program) may only qualify for the SK Pre-B.Ed. assessment if they have completed all the requirements for the non-B.Ed. degree at the time of application. Proof of meeting the program requirements is demonstrated when the SPTRB receives a convocation letter from the University of Regina or University of Saskatchewan indicating completion of all program requirements of the non-B.Ed. degree program. If both degree program requirements will be met at the same time (i.e. in the spring), then the program(s) will not qualify for the SK Pre-B.Ed. assessment.  
   ♦  Applications will be assessed once ALL required documents are received.   
     

III.  Saskatchewan Teacher Education Program Conferred Application Requirements:
 

   1. Online application and fee ($110.25 non-refundable).

  6. Official transcripts with B.Ed. degree conferred sent directly from the issuing institution.
