Invitation to participate in professional learning and currency of practice survey
With the aim of better understanding the status of teacher professional development in the province of Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Professional Teachers’ Regulatory Board (SPTRB) has contracted lead researcher Dr. Osmond-Johnson (in collaboration with Dr. Kathryn Ricketts, Dr. Cristyne Hebert, and Dr. Heather Phipps and assisted by Nadiya Ekhteraee, Hosna Tayebianvar, and Lucrecia Furhman) to explore the experiences and perspectives of Saskatchewan teachers and educational stakeholders with respect to professional learning and currency of practice.
As a registered teacher in Saskatchewan, your experiences will provide valuable insights into these questions and aid the SPTRB in better assessing the professional learning needs of the province’s teachers.Please note that participation in the study is completely voluntary and you should in no way feel obligated to participate. There is no direct compensation for participation in this study and no guarantee of direct personal benefit; however, participants may find the study beneficial in terms of the opportunity it provides for reflection on practice and the value of the supportive conversations it provides. Should you choose to participate, informed consent will be obtained electronically as part of the online focus group registration and online survey processes. Pour mieux comprendre le statut de la formation continue en enseignement dans la province de la Saskatchewan, la Commission de règlementation des enseignant(e)s professionnel(le)s de la Saskatchewan (CREPS) a fait appel à la chercheuse Pamela Osmond-Johnson (et à ses collaboratrices Kathryn Ricketts, Cristyne Hebert, Heather Phipps et assistantes de recherche Nadiya Ekhteraee, Hosna Tayebianvar et Lucrecia Furhman) pour examiner l’expérience et les points de vue du corps enseignant et des parties prenantes en éducation relativement à la formation continue et à la récence de l’expérience pratique.
En tant que membre du personnel enseignant détenteur d’un brevet en Saskatchewan, votre expérience fournira un éclairage sur ces questions et aidera la CREPS à mieux évaluer les besoins de formation continue en enseignement dans la province. La participation à la présente étude est volontaire, en aucun cas les personnes devraient se sentir dans l’obligation de participer. Aucune compensation directe n’est offerte pour la participation à l’étude. De la même façon, aucune garantie n’est offerte quant aux avantages de participer à l’étude, toutefois, les personnes participantes pourraient trouver avantageux le fait d’avoir l’occasion de réfléchir sur la pratique de l’enseignement et considérer la valeur de la discussion visant à soutenir la profession. Les personnes qui décident de participer devront fournir un consentement électronique dans le cadre de l’inscription au groupe de discussion et du processus de sondage.
