Guide for Completing the Certification Application


Please read the following instructions carefully before beginning your application to ensure you have all the required information prepared:

 1.  All applications must be completed online.
 2.  All applicants must create an online account to access the online application form.
 3.  Upload copies of documents as requested. 
 4.  Determine which documents you may be required to submit based on where you completed your Bachelor of Education or Teacher Education Program:

           •  Saskatchewan Teacher Education Program 
           •  Canadian Teacher's Certificate Holder   
           •  International Teacher Education Program (Including teachers trained in the United States)

 5.  The online application does not allow you to save a partially filled form. You must complete the form in one session, or you will need to restart the form.
 6.  Once you submit your application, no further changes can be made.  
 7.  Applicants who have selected the online payment option will follow the instructions given in the payment section and complete the payment process.

Applications are considered complete only if the SPTRB has received:

           •  A completed online application form (including documents required in the form)
           •  Payment of the application fee 1

Certificate Applications will remain active according to the following:

   Submission of additional documents requested by the SPTRB.     Active for 1 year from the date of the SPTRB request email. 
  Assessment was completed and additional coursework is required prior to certification.          Active for a maximum of 4 years from the date of the SPTRB coursework requirements were communicated by email. 
  Application fee not submitted.   Active for 3 months from the application date. 




 
If you are not able to meet the deadlines above, your application will be closed and deleted. The applicant will be required to resubmit a new application using their previously created SPTRB account in order to start the application process again. All documents must be resubmitted with the new application.
TO ACCESS CERTIFICATION APPLICATION

     Click Create Account at the top right-hand corner of this page.
     Fill in the required data by following the instructions in the online form.
     Click Save to save changes and create your account.
     Your account will remain logged in so that you can begin the Certification Application.
     Click Certification
     Click Apply for Certification
     Click Apply Online to begin your application
PLEASE NOTE:
   ♦  Applicants must be certified in the jurisdiction where their teacher education program was completed.
   ♦  Applications will be assessed once ALL required documents are received.
   ♦  
Please do not submit documents unless requested. Submitting unnecessary documents and providing the same document multiple times increases application processing times.

1 Application fees are non-transferrable, non-refundable, and subject to change without notice. All fees are listed and must be submitted in Canadian currency.
